These activities will highlight public policy energy issues that affect community sustainability and livability. In addition, we will address a range of important local and national issues such green buildings, alternative/renewable energy, infrastructure, land use, water conservation, and small business regulation. The goal is to showcase for government officials the expertise available from GSI and its partners to deal with these policy matters. Each of these areas will be linked to our strategic plan that will soon be online.
These activities will support the development of a highly-trained workforce that can ensure a sustainable energy and water future and drive local economic development.
Public Education and Outreach
These activities will increase awareness and engagement of PreK students and educators, public, decision-makers, media, and other stakeholders. These activities will provide critical information to the community with regard to key energy/water security and environmental degradation issues and embrace solutions that promote sustainability, including behavior change
These activities will advance the creation of new knowledge and will leverage that knowledge base to address critical local and regional issues of sustainability.
